Review: Gene Simmons Rock-N-Brews

Published on May 21, 2012 by in Reviews

“Bring some friends.” That’s what she said when I was invited to join a bunch of bikers at the Rock-n-Brews restaurant in El Segundo for what was supposed to be motorcycle day. Now I happen to be a motorcycle-enthusiast and happen to love food. So how could I resist?

Some friends and I joined up with a bunch of bikers at the Irish Towers pub in Paramount and rode to El Segundo, onto Main Street, and took over the parking lot at Rock-N-Brews. In our defense we were told it’d be shut off to cars and only motorcycles would be allowed in the lot. Not true. But no matter, we all managed to park just fine (My apologies to all the patrons whose cars we blocked-in). Rock-N-Brews is an open-air restaurant boasting a huge collection of draft and bottled beer , and offers a host of great food from burgers, to pizza, to some pretty incredible hot wings. What I didn’t know, at least not right away, was rocker Gene Simmons owns the place. A true Bad Boy right there folks.

The wings. I’m not one for spicy foods (it’s my delicate palate) but I have to say, these were pretty freekin good. My favorites were Al’s Asian Spicy Wings. Sweet, tangy, spicy, dusted with fresh cilantro, they just cried out to me to keep eating. Which of course, I did.

But, and I can’t say this enough, being an avowed meatatarian, my personal fave was the Ultimate Burger. It was in a word, ah-maze-ing. Seriously. Hand-formed, ground chuck oak-grilled to a perfect medium, fresh tomato, lettuce, and incredible caramelized onion. Huge. Oh… and double cheddar cheese. Woof!

This is a spot for the bad boy in all of us. It’s biker-friendly, family-friendly, and packed. So make sure you set aside some time. The place is truly worth standing in line.

Can anyone say “food-coma?”

How cool! I’d have loved to go there. Did you see the man himself?
    Keep posting… I dig this stuff…

  2. This place was much better than I had expected! The food was above par and the micro brew beers changed hourly & you can get the list sent to your smart phone to see what’s currently on tap.

Other than the parking glitch which worked out, I’m definitely planning a trip back.

    Great review Karl!
